SULSESC REPORT
by Reg Walters at Glanford Park
AFTER the 0-2 reverse against Bristol City, hopes were not high in the Lawyer before the game but as 3 o'clock approached and the beer began to work, hopes became higher and most were hopeful of a point.
The match itself set off at a good pace with the Iron looking bright and taking the game to Swansea. They got their just rewards on six minutes with Sharp heading us into the lead but only a few minutes later Sharp was injured and on came Torps – to a reception that can only be described as disappointing! I thought we went along to support our team, boys and girls.
After a bit of a reckless tackle from Cleveland, a penalty brought the scores level and shortly after that, another defensive error allowed Swansea to take the lead.
The second-half was largely dominated by the Iron but a mixture of good saves and poor misses looked to have cost us even a point until, right at the last, we got a corner, Torps jumped, it hit his head and…goal!
It finished 2-2, yippee, up to the dizzy highs of 17th. I will settle for that at the end of the season!
Thanks for your company and lift to the ground, chaps.
