SULSESC REPORT
by Ian Tremayne at Bloomfield Road
WHAT a dump! Not only the ground but the whole place. Struggled to find pubs that let kids in (I can hear some of you saying ‘good’!), struggled to find anywhere decent to eat, struggled to find anywhere decent, period.
It wasn’t all bad though, I spent the weekend there with the family and stayed in a good B&B close to the seafront run by a family from Scunny. Members of the official Supporters’ Club were also staying there, so there were many like minded people, which helped make for a good weekend socially.
One of our ex-players was there as well, Andy Stevenson, he was good company, and apparently follows United far and wide.
Down to the match and I will be brief. Blackpool is not the happiest of hunting grounds for us, and this match was to prove that point.
We were awful and they were good. They were too quick up front for our back four, and too strong at the back for us to do much damage, with the exception of Billy.
Sitting in what is basically an open stand consisting of seats on a bit of scaffolding, seeing your team get taken to the cleaners, is not a pleasurable thing.
We were lucky not to get hammered by six or seven…and that’s by a team containing two singers, Michael Jackson and Robbie Williams!
I don’t think I’ll rush back.
